The first grapes at Spiral Rock Vineyard were planted in the spring of 2014 four miles up the Old Spiral Highway overlooking the Lewis-Clark Valley. Two guys, who share a love of the outdoors, gardening and hard work, enlisted the help of family and friends to plant one acre (1,100 vines) of Riesling grapes. The following spring a second acre of Riesling went in the ground along with some Cabernet Sauvingnon. Spiral Rock is one of the newest vineyards established in the recently designated Lewis-Clark Valley AVA.
In October, 2016, we brought in our first harvest and began production. We fermented the juice all the way dry (i.e. no residual sugar) and filled 500 bottles. We gave most of the wine away to friends, family, acquaintances and just about anyone who would promise to give us their opinion. With our confidence growing our second harvest in 2017 produced 100 cases of our signature Dry Riesling. As an extra bonus we were able to salvage enough Cab. Sauv. from the marauding birds to start six gallons of the red on its journey to the bottle.
Spring of 2018 will see new plantings of Cabernet Franc and Sangiovesi at Spiral Rock Vineyard.

"After nearly 30 years in manufacturing the desire to utilize the land Becky and I live on took ahold of me. I am facinated with the history of wine making in the Lewis-Clark Valley and the opportunity to particpate in the growth of this market was to appealing to pass up."
